Pandemic 2

The goal in Pandemic 2 is quite simple: Create and evolve a deadly disease (Viral, Bacterial, or Parasitic) and effectively spread it to the different areas of the world - infecting, and later destroying the human race. In order to achieve this goal you have different strategic options at your disposal. You can choose between three different types of disease carriers: Viral, Bacterial, or Parasitic, as well as many other options of Symptoms, Transmitters, and Resistances.

In order to "Purchase" the different stages of Symptoms, Transmitters, and Resistances, you need to acquire Evolution Points; these Evolution Points are automatically acquired through the spreading of your disease. In order to achieve success you must exterminate the human race. Depending on your disease's Lethality, Infectivity, and Visibility, this task will become increasingly challenging if your disease does not manage to spread to all corners of the world.

I found this game very entertaining, as it focused on more strategy then anything else, although it did have it's flaws.

Game Play:
Although this game does have a very interesting goal, I found that if not played properly, it could be very frustrating. For example, while playing, if you do not manage to infect Madagascar before they close their shipyards, you might as well start over, because although the game won't deal out an instant "Game Over", from that point on it is impossible to win, as when the rest of the globe is wiped out, there is theoretically a way that the world can be repopulated.
Game Play Rating: 6/10

Sound:
The sound in this game is nothing to be proud of, I feel as though it was just added in as a last resort because the creator didn't have anything better, or was just to lazy to make better music. When playing in the "Realistic Mode", game play can last anywhere from 15 minutes, all the way up to an hour if you play conservatively, and listening to the same 20 second audio loop for that amount of time can be very annoying. I recommend to anyone that plays this game, to mute it after the first 5 minutes or so.
Sound Rating: 2/10

Graphics:
Although the designer didn't go all out on the graphics, they are more then adequate. This games graphics give you all the information you need, in a decent looking manner. More could have been done to give the map a more realistic feel, but overall the graphics are just good enough.
Graphics Rating: 6/10

Replayability:
Although I found this game entertaining, I wouldn't go back to play it again more then 5 times. The same slow game play for that long is just nauseating.
Replayability Rating: 4/10

Overall rating: 5/10

Although this game did have it's flaws, it was enjoyable. I would recommend this game to anyone that enjoys strategy based games, as well as anyone that wants to destroy the world. I would put this game into the "Good" category, not an amazing game, but well worth your time playing it.
